E-reading promoted at book fair

The Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL) is taking part in this year's Hong Kong Book Fair, with the aims of promoting e-reading and encouraging members to integrate reading into their daily lives under the theme of “life/LIBRARY”.   The fair is being held from today until next Tuesday at the Convention & Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai and the HKPL’s stall is located at Booth A28 in Hall 1C.   Visitors to the stall can sample the HKPL's e-resources via touchscreen panels and tablets, besides browsing an array of high-quality reading materials recommended in book reviews by librarians.

SWD notes report completion

Foreign currency reserves up

Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets rose to US$423.2 billion in November from October's US$417.2 billion, the Monetary Authority announced today.   The reserve assets represent over five times the currency in circulation or about 42% of Hong Kong dollar M3.   There were no unsettled foreign exchange contracts at the end of November. http://dlvr.it/Sf21zZ
