HKeToll service points to be set up

The Transport Department announced today that starting from February 24, 34 consultation counters will be set up to assist vehicle owners to apply for HKeToll services.   Twenty-five of the consultation counters are at MTR stations and will run from 9am to 9pm daily. The remaining nine counters at the Home Affairs Department in the New Territories will run from 9am to 7pm from Mondays to Fridays, except public holidays.         At the consultation counters, vehicle owners should provide their identity card number, vehicle plate number and e-contact means registered with the department, which is either their email address or mobile phone number.   Letters are being sent to some 800,000 vehicle owners in Hong Kong from February 17 to 24, informing them of their e-contact means currently registered with the department. Vehicle owners may bring the letter to the consultation counters.   The counter staff will assist the drivers to apply for a vehicle tag, open a HKeToll account, associate the vehicle to the account and set up a payment means in one go.   These will be done through the HKeToll website or mobile app. Vehicle owners may also update their e-contact at the consultation counters.        In addition to the four customer service centres provided by the toll service provider, two service counters at Rumsey Street and Tsuen Wan Government multi-storey car parks have commenced operation to facilitate the application for vehicle tags and driver cards by the taxi trade.   Taxi owners and drivers are advised to make an appointment on the HKeToll website or the mobile application in advance.        The HKeToll will be implemented at Eagle's Nest Tunnel, Sha Tin Heights Tunnel and Tai Wai Tunnel starting at 5am on May 7. As of February 20, more than 480,000 vehicle tags have been issued.
