18 virus cases reported

The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 18 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 13 are locally transmitted.   Among the local cases, two have unknown sources of infection.   One of the cases involves a 41-year-old woman who is a staff member of the US Consulate General Hong Kong & Macau. She was asymptomatic and last went to work on March 12.   She lives in Dynasty Court, Mid-Levels and underwent virus testing on March 15 under a restriction-testing declaration in respect of a specified restricted area on Old Peak Road. She tested positive that day.   Another untraceable case involves a 38-year-old information technology engineer who lives in 16 Tai Hang Road, Causeway Bay.   He developed runny nose on March 10 and his sample collected on March 14 was positive. He last worked on March 15.   Regarding the five imported cases, the patients arrived from Pakistan, Turkey, Ukraine and the Philippines.   For information and health advice on COVID-19, visit the Government's dedicated webpage.
